...with Jesus

See the Gospel explained in the video to the left.

Read about how to become a Christ follower, because it's as easy as A-B-C.

admit

Admit you are a sinner -- Everyone has done something wrong.

23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.  Romans 3:23 (NLT)

There is a penalty for sin.
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. - Romans 6:23

It's not how "bad" you think your sin is or if you've only done a "little" one, it's that you've sinned at all.
10 For the person who keeps all of the laws except one is as guilty as a person who has broken all of God’s laws.
James 2:10

You can't make up for it on your own.
5 He saved us because of his mercy,
and not because of any good things that we have done.
Titus 3:5

Believe

Believe on Jesus Christ - not just admit his existence, but put your trust in Him for how you live.

God made a way for us.  His Son Jesus, came and lived as a man, did not sin at all and then died on a cross to pay the price for our sin.

16 God loved the people of this world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who has faith in him will have eternal life and never really die.
John 3:16 (CEV)

CONFESS

Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord

9 So you will be saved, if you honestly say, “Jesus is Lord,” and if you believe with all your heart that God raised him from death.
10 God will accept you and save you, if you truly believe this and tell it to others.
Romans 10:9-10 (CEV)

Then you are a follower of Jesus.  God does it all, it's not based on how good you are or how capable you are.

8 You were saved by faith in God, who treats us much better than we deserve. This is God’s gift to you, and not anything you have done on your own.
9 It isn’t something you have earned, so there is nothing you can brag about.
Ephesians 2:8-9 (CEV)

  • Indoor baptism

At Bay West, we practice "believer's baptism."  In the Scripture, we see the pattern of people making a decision to follow Christ, THEN they get baptized publicly to show their commitment to God.  Pastor Jim says all the time "there's nothing magical about the water." Baptism is our first easy step of obedience we make toward following Jesus.

If you'd like more information on baptism, click here and learn more from our FAQ page on baptism.

If you'd like to talk with someone about scheduling a baptism at Bay West Church, fill out the form to the right and someone will contact you to help you through that process.

11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.1 Thessalonians 5:11
